Inspection

Find the Problem. Fix It. Finish the Job.

Having a property inspection program in place to continuously monitor facilities is standard practice for large property investment firms. Inspection standards are higher for facilities subject to state survey requirements.

A periodic inspection process ensures compliance with these requirements and allows an organization to reduce risk by identifying trouble areas and maintaining a historical record of scheduled maintenance.

An unmanned aircraft system (UAS) can be an invaluable tool during an inspection process. They provide an otherwise unseen perspective for a fraction of the cost of manned aircraft, and allow access to areas that might otherwise be considered unsafe for an inspector.

High-resolution imagery can expedite the inspection process, saving man-hours and providing decision-makers with actionable data. Aircraft can also carry thermal cameras, moisture and CO2 detectors, or can be set up to transmit a live inspection feed to anywhere in the world. Aircraft equipped with multiple sensors can collect data more quickly and accurately, resulting in immediate products for analysis.

In the end, the primary purpose of a UAS is to identify issues, improve conditions, and reduce risk. UAS help accomplish this and provide facility managers with a valuable tool for resource management. They deliver a more cost-effective, comprehensive product and help improve an organization’s overall safety program by protecting inspectors from unnecessary exposure to potentially hazardous situations.

Avion is an FAA-approved commercial UAS operator, authorized to fly unmanned aerial vehicles in the United States.
